Frequently asked questions.

Do you work with financing companies?

We collaborate with three financial companies: Viking Capital, Lyon Financial, and HFS Financial. You can find links to each application directly on our Pool Construction page.

What states do you service?

We are a company that is well-versed in providing renovation services for properties situated in DC, MD, and VA. Our expertise doesn't end there, as we are also skilled in the construction of custom pools for clients located in MD and DC.

How long does it take to complete the pool?

The duration it takes to finish building the pool after signing depends on the timeliness of permit approvals. Once we obtain your permit and clearance from Miss Utility, it takes roughly 14-16 weeks to finalize the pool. However, there may be unforeseen delays such as weather conditions and holidays. Additionally, inspections may take longer in certain counties, causing further delays.

Do you get the permits and call inspections?

Yes, unless otherwise specified in your contract, we pull the permits for you and call inspections.

Do you build the pool in-house from start to finish?

We construct 95% of the pool in-house. The only phases we use contractors for are the concrete/gunite pour, the electrical and gas work, and the fencing (if required in your county).

What is the process like?

Our process begins with a sales expert visiting you to provide an estimate for your project. Upon signing the contract, we will collect the deposit amount specified in the agreement and begin the permit process. We will contact Miss Utility to confirm if there are any underground lines that may affect the pool's position. If necessary, we will reposition the pool. Once approved, we will begin the excavation process, followed by installing rebar, applying gravel, stub plumbing, pouring gunite, and installing electrical, gas (if a heater is included), and plumbing equipment. Coping, tile, and deck installation (if included) follow before we finally plaster the interior. Throughout the process, there will be county inspections, which will vary depending on the location.

How long does it take for the gunite and concrete deck to cure and how should I care for it during the curing phase?

To ensure a proper cure for the gunite, it's essential to water it 2-3 times daily during hot weather. The same applies when caring for a new concrete deck- watering it frequently will assist in preventing cracks. It's important to be mindful not to walk on the concrete for at least 3 days, and avoid anything sharp, like heels, for a week after that. Additionally, it's best to refrain from placing benches or seats on the concrete until it's fully cured, which usually takes around two to three weeks.

When can I start using my pool after it has been plastered?

After the plastering phase, it is recommended to wait a minimum of 2 weeks before using the pool. However, the curing process takes 30 days. During this curing period, it is critical to maintain daily chemical balance and brush the pool to ensure proper maintenance and longevity.
